Mitsubishi Motors has been manufacturing the compact sedan Mitsubishi Galant since the year 1969. Mitsubishi Galant has been marketed in nine generations to date, and the sales of the car have improved tremendously, exceeding the five million mark. The manufacturing of Mitsubishi Galant started in compact sedan form, and currently it has grown to a midsize car. Initially the production started in Japan, but since 1994 the American automobile assembly took over the assembling work.

First Generation (1969-1971)

The first generation car in Mitsubishi Galant acknowledged as colt gallant and the car was released in the year 1969. In cool Galant you can find three models. All the three models released, were power-driven by Saturn engine with 1.3 L and 1.5 L in other two models. Initially in the first generation the Mitsubishi Galant is attainable as 4 door sedan. First time a coupe model was developed in the year 1970. The second coupe model was pioneered in the year 1971.

The second generation Galant was launched by Chrysler in different appearances; in America the second generation Mitsubishi Galant sold by Dodge colt in two versions – Plymouth Cricket and Plymouth Colt. During the second generation Galant manufacturing, Mitsubishi stared using Astron 80 engines for its new “Silent Shaft” with balance shaft expertise for reduction of noise and vibration.

In American automobile market Mitsubishi Lancer was introduced by Dodge Colt and in Australia the Mitsubishi Galant built by Chrysler’s plant.
